Memorial of Robert Jakoubek

60 Years of the Weimaraner Breeders Club

In 2026, the Weimaraner Breeders Club will commemorate a signifcant milestone – 60 years since its foundation. Since 1966, when the club was established in Prague, KCHVO has become a stable and respected part of Czech as well as international cynology. Throughout its existence, the club’s main mission has been the protection and development of the Weimaraner as a healthy, mentally balanced and versatile hunting dog, in accordance with the FCI breed standard and the traditions of practical hunting.

Sixty years of continuous work by many generations of breeders, handlers and breed enthusiasts have brought results of which the club can rightfully be proud. Through controlled breeding under expert guidance, it has been possible not only to stabilize and further develop the Weimaraner’s exterior, but above all to preserve and strengthen its innate working abilities, which form the very foundation of the breed’s identity.

An integral part of the 60th anniversary celebrations will be the International Versatile Working Trials for Weimaraners – the VI Robert Jakoubek Memorial, held in honour of the first chairman of KCHVO and a key figure who significantly contributed to the formation of the club and the development of Weimaraner breeding in the Czech Republic. These trials represent the ultimate test of the Weimaraner’s working qualities in the field, forest and water, while also serving as a dignified reminder of the breed’s versatility and practical value in hunting.
